I have been receiving a lot of mail lately from people interested in localizing AcidSearch. I think that this is fantastic, but it becomes a bit cumbersome to try and explain the same things over and over again (especially since I am a mediocre, slow typist). Because of this I have put up a new page with localization tips. If you have ever had an interest in localizing AcidSearch (remember, the documentation is currently English and Japanese only!) I'd recommend you check out this page.
I have been taking a break for the holidays which essentially means that I haven't been on my computer as much, and thus may have taken longer than usual to reply to emails. I hope this hasn't inconvenienced anyone terribly!
I have still been working on AcidSearch, as well as two unreleased projects. I don't want to give away too much right away, but as a small hint, I'll say that one of them relates rather closely to PlaintextPaste, so it should receive its own update in not too long. I apologize it has taken so long to get an update on this, but the unreleased project needs to be completed before an update to PTP can be done. And that's all I'm going to say about that.
I hope everyone has been having a happy holiday season (in the interest of political correctness; though I guess I could take the Virgin Mobile tack and call it Christmahannukwaanzikah).

I have released a new version of AcidSearch. I strongly recommend you update. I wasn't expecting to release a new version this soon (I had hoped to work on major features in 0.4) but due to some bugs it is necessary. This fixes the most glaring bug, that pushing the down arrow key while the location bar was selected would cause the interface to "freeze up" until the mouse was clicked. This should no longer be the case.
There are other minor bugfixes as well. I won't go into depth on them because most are unimportant. The only other new "feature" is that the installer has seen its first significant upgrade. You can now install for one user only if you'd like, and the installer also gives confirmation of a successful or unsuccessful install (finally)! The installer is also *able* to be localized, but I have received no localizations yet from my fantastic localizers. As soon as I do I will be sure to update the package (silently—there won't be a new version number, though I'll probably post an update on the blog).
I will continue to work on PlaintextPaste as well. The next version will be a while from now, but it *will* be worth it, I can assure you...
[UPDATE: Italian localization updated]
[UPDATE 2: Japanese, traditional Chinese, and French localizations updated. Sorry it took so long, I was away from the internet for a bit!]

Finally. I have updated AcidSearch (I know it seemed like an eternity)!
This version adds numerous minor enhancements, including a slightly more intuitive method of Find As You Type. You can also enable a Firefox-style version of Find As You Type that requires you to press the slash key to "enable" the feature. It also has some audio feedback. The other additions that are more interesting is the ability to change channels with the arrow keys (press the down arrow while the search field is selected to pop open the menu, then use the arrow keys to navigate and press return to select a channel) and the ability to do a quick search in a new tab (command-control(right)-click). Download it here.
