AcidSearch 0.34

I have released a new version of AcidSearch. I strongly recommend you update. I wasn't expecting to release a new version this soon (I had hoped to work on major features in 0.4) but due to some bugs it is necessary. This fixes the most glaring bug, that pushing the down arrow key while the location bar was selected would cause the interface to "freeze up" until the mouse was clicked. This should no longer be the case.

There are other minor bugfixes as well. I won't go into depth on them because most are unimportant. The only other new "feature" is that the installer has seen its first significant upgrade. You can now install for one user only if you'd like, and the installer also gives confirmation of a successful or unsuccessful install (finally)! The installer is also *able* to be localized, but I have received no localizations yet from my fantastic localizers. As soon as I do I will be sure to update the package (silently—there won't be a new version number, though I'll probably post an update on the blog).

I will continue to work on PlaintextPaste as well. The next version will be a while from now, but it *will* be worth it, I can assure you...

[UPDATE: Italian localization updated]
[UPDATE 2: Japanese, traditional Chinese, and French localizations updated. Sorry it took so long, I was away from the internet for a bit!]

Awesome! Thanks for such a fast update to some of the minute bugs that plagued 0.33, I love this script! It is truly powerful, helpful and rockin'!

I just have one question... how exactly does or do you use the "Find As you Type"? Is that like finding ing the current page your on or what? Sorry if I'm over-looking something tiny or simple...

Hi TJ,

Just select "enabled" from the "Find As You Type" popup in the Advanced Options, then just start typing on the page. I have a much better description in the manual, here.

Robin,

Great update!! Thanks for the quick bug-fix on version .33, it's greatly appreciated.

I wanted to chime in on an idea for enhancing the find-as-you-type feature. If you type-ahead to a link, it would be cool to be able to hit enter and open that link. It would be especially cool to have the option to open the link in the same window, a new window, a tab, or a tab in the background. That would further enhance the ease of browsing on a Powerbook or iBook.

Great work!!

Never expected this, after I reinstalled Panther and updated directly to 10.3.8.

I complained that Acidsearch v.34 messed-up the spacebar scrolling -- or at least triggered it. And it did cuz I uninstalled it to make sure. Yet, after re-installing the OS, the scrolling is normal. Odd. Just thought I'd clear this up from my MacUpdate commentary.
